Technical Note: Increasing the Size of ACD/Dictionary

ACD/Labs Dictionary is a popular and very useful function of ACD/ChemSketch. It encompasses a searchable electronic repository of over 32 thousand commonly drawn structures. Since several structures have multiple names, there are more than 155,000 names currently existing in the Dictionary database file. Updating structures to an ACD/ChemFolder database and periodically using the Custom Dictionary utility to expand the Dictionary can be a useful tool for quick search and recall by custom names and registry numbers.

Technical Note: Populating a ChemFolder Database by Import of a .CSV File

Comma separated values files (.CSV) are a convenient way to move and manipulate data. However, chemical information is complex, and storing your data in text files alone has its limitations. Chemically intelligent software, such as ACD/ChemFolder, helps bring together structure-searchable records, text, images, and file links to easily create a chemist-friendly library of structures and reactions.
