Synthematix and Advanced Chemistry Development Announce Their Collaboration to Integrate Selected Products
Research Triangle Park, NC, December 6, 2002 -
Synthematix, Inc. and Advanced Chemistry Development (ACD/Labs) today announced a new partnership to integrate selected market-leading ACD/Labs solutions with Synthematix's Arthur™ Suite, a comprehensive chemistry workflow environment for synthetic chemists.
Using Synthematix's Arthur Suite, synthetic chemists are able to search, model, mine, and save synthetic reactions and their associated experimental procedures. Arthur includes the ability to access analytical data associated with any reaction, procedure, or procedure step. ACD/Labs' award winning ACD/SpecManager™ provides chemists with powerful tools to process, predict, and manage analytical data in a wide variety of formats. Under the collaboration, both companies will develop the capability for their users to access a homogenous interface to both software offerings.
"We are very pleased to have Advanced Chemistry Development as a product development collaborator," said Clay B. Thorp, President and CEO, Synthematix, Inc. "ACD/Labs' expertise in the 'high science' segment of chemical computing is well recognized. They are a market leader in predictive analytical chemical software solutions. Synthematix offers a comprehensive workflow environment for searching and planning chemical reactions. The ability to access actual spectral data through ACD/Labs' software is tremendously important to the synthetic chemist as he or she plans their reactions using our Arthur software. Both companies will gain from this collaboration."
"We are greatly impressed with Synthematix's products," said Antony Williams, V.P. of Scientific Development and Marketing at ACD/Labs. "We've seen how the Arthur Database and Suite offer chemistry organizations a comprehensive planning environment for synthetic chemistry. Using ACD/Labs' predictive tools in the Arthur environment, scientists can predict the physicochemical properties of their molecular structures, predict the multinuclear NMR spectra of their reaction products, and generate chemical names, either IUPAC or CAS Index, to populate their databases with systematic nomenclature. The integration to our analytical data processing and databasing tools provides direct access to 1D and 2D NMR, LC-MS, chromatography, UV-Vis, IR, and many other forms of analytical data. ACD/SpecManager provides a homogenizing environment for heterogeneous data and the integration with Arthur has the potential to greatly enhance the effectiveness of R&D."
The two companies are discussing further opportunities to integrate other products for the benefit of their users.
