College
of Charleston Accepts Donation of Campus-Wide Installation Package
of Advanced Chemistry Development's ACD/ChemSketch
Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc. has provided the College
of Charleston with a campus-wide installation of ACD/Labs' successful
chemical structure drawing software, ACD/ChemSketch.
ACD/ChemSketch will be made available to all students and faculty
members of the College of Charleston.
For more information on ACD/ChemSketch please visit our web
site, http://www.acdlabs.com/products/chem_dsn_lab/chemsketch/
ACD/ChemSketch enables you to draw virtually any chemical structure
within the scope of your imagination. Being one of the few "intelligent"
chemical structure drawing packages on the market, ACD/ChemSketch
signals the user when they have broken the normal valency of an
atom by drawing too many bonds. Also, atoms are automatically
fully protonated when they are placed on the ACD/ChemSketch tablet.
Other ACD/ChemSketch features include 2D and 3D optimization,
importing various structure formats and OLE linking to enable
copying and pasting of chemical structures into other MS applications.
ACD/ChemSketch truly is one of the leaders in its class.
ACD/Labs Account Manager, Mr. Scott MacDonald, recently said "Tools
like ChemSketch are the norm in the everyday life of scientists
in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. The earlier a student
gets exposure to these necessary tools the easier the transition
into the work environment".
This initiative, spearheaded by Dr. Clyde Metz from the College
of Charleston, to offer cutting edge software to the college's
academic community is the result of ACD/Labs' current academic focus
to "give something back" to all of our grass roots beginnings.
Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc. (www.acdlabs.com)
