Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc., Donates Campus-Wide License of ACD/ChemSketch to Hawai'i Pacific University
Toronto, ON, and Kaneohe, HI, United States, December 12, 2003 -
Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc., (ACD/Labs) has provided a campus-wide installation of the commercial version of ACD/ChemSketch v5.0 to Hawai'i Pacific University. Spearheading the installation of ChemSketch at HPU was chemistry professor Dr. David Horgen. David found out about ACD/Labs' product offerings at the American Society of Pharmacognosy conference where he was presenting a poster. Wanting to add additional NMR visualization tools to his organic chemistry course, David spoke with representatives of ACD/Labs to acquire our 1H and 13C NMR prediction software currently offered in ACD/Educator Pack #2 and #4. Through this investigation, David realized that ChemSketch could be yet another powerful supplement to his current list of teaching tools.
ChemSketch is ACD/Labs' chemical structure drawing and visualization application for the Microsoft® Windows (98, Me, NT, 2000, and XP) operating system. ChemSketch enables the user to draw virtually any chemical structure within the scope of their imagination and provides the ability to add chemical structures and drawn images, such as lab equipment, Lewis structures, bond orbitals, and graphs to reports and presentations. Other ChemSketch features include 2D and 3D optimization, importing various structure formats, and OLE linking to enable copying and pasting of chemical structures into other Microsoft applications.
