Washington State University Receives Campus-Wide Installation Package of Advanced Chemistry Development's ACD/ChemSketch
Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc. has provided Washington State University with a campus-wide installation of ACD/Labs' successful chemical structure-drawing software, ACD/ChemSketch.
ACD/ChemSketch will be made available to all students and faculty members of Washington State University.
For more information on ACD/ChemSketch please visit our web site at http://www.acdlabs.com/products/chem_dsn_lab/chemsketch/
ACD/ChemSketch enables you to draw virtually any chemical structure within the scope of your imagination. Being one of the few "intelligent" chemical structure-drawing packages on the market, ACD/ChemSketch signals the user when they have broken the normal valency of an atom by drawing too many bonds. Also, atoms are automatically protonated when they are placed on the ACD/ChemSketch tablet. Other ACD/ChemSketch features include 2D and 3D optimization, importing various structure formats, and OLE linking to enable copying and pasting of chemical structures into other MS applications. ACD/ChemSketch truly is one of the leaders in its class.
Dr. Petr Kuzmic, from Washington State University's Department of Chemistry, contacted Advanced Chemistry Development. Dr. Kuzmic had organized the installation of ChemSketch at a former university were he lectured. He has taught thousands of students and feels that students can "benefit from the enhanced learning opportunities that ChemSketch provides."

Washington State University (www.wsu.edu), located in the friendly college town of Pullman, Washington, is one of the highest ranked honor colleges in the U.S. Students attending WSU learn from internationally renowned scholars in small classes. Throughout a student's academic career, they will be encouraged to take advantage of the many opportunities open to them. This could include learning a new language, studying abroad, or gaining hands-on experience through internships, fieldwork, and intensive lab exercises. Ranked as one of the top research universities in America, according to the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, students are given the opportunity to assist professors in research experiments as well as conduct their own.
