- Install HPP's VisualMenu program and establish a connection to the scanner. It may be necessary to print and scan the configuration barcode obtained from the Print RS-232 Bar Code button to get a connection with the program.
- Install the latest Hand Held Products OPOS driver.
- Scan the Hand Held Products CLONE.BMP bar code.
- Run the Hand Held Products OPOS configuration utility and verify the communications setting and suffix codes by:
- Click the Start button, then point to Programs, then Hand Held Products Scanner OPOS, and then choose Hand Held Products Config Utility.
- Suffix 1 and Suffix 2 should both be [CR], if not, correct them and click Update Scanner.
- Close the program by clicking Done.
- Start the Hand Held Products OPOS Tester program by:
- Click the Start button, then point to Programs, then Hand Held Products Scanner OPOS, and then choose OPOS Tester.
- Then select Connection Open, then select Connection, then Claim, and finally 2 Sec. The Connect Status: should now be Open, Claimed.
- Then click Toggle DeviceEnabled, Toggle DataEventEnabled, and Toggle Decode Data.
- You should now be able to scan ChemCoder bar codes and see data in the Scanner Data frame. The Symbology field should read SCAN_SDT_PDF417.
Troubleshooting
If you do not see any data displayed after scanning a bar code, execute the following from within the OPOS Tester program.
- Select DirectIO, and Do A Menu Command, and then enter PREBK2995C805C81. Then click OK and close the DirectIO Event window.
- Select DirectIO, and Do A Menu Command, and then enter SUFBK2990D0D. Then click OK and close the DirectIO Event window.
- Select DirectIO, and Do A Menu Command, and then enter MNUSAV. Then click OK and close the DirectIO Event window.
