ACD/ChemFolder Enterprise
Key Capabilities
ACD/ChemFolder Enterprise (for Oracle and Postgre SQL) is designed to work with remote databases and is most suitable for teams and corporations. Encompassing most of the ACD/ChemFolder features, ChemFolder Enterprise further enables multi-user access to the chemical databases through the client-server architecture.
The overall design of ChemFolder Enterprise is based on the 3-tiered architecture and includes three modular levels: client, application server, and database server. Oracle or Postgre SQL database servers can be used (ACD/ChemFolder Enterprise for Oracle and ACD/ChemFolder Enterprise for PostgreSQL).
The remote databases can be searched in a variety of ways using a mixture of search methods, including structural, structure similarity, substructure, reaction, subreaction, user data, meta data, etc. ChemFolder Enterprise can operate in two basic modes: "Local" (works like the usual desktop version of ChemFolder) and "Remote" (works with a remote database).
ACD/ChemFolder Enterprise supports projects within the corporate database. Individual projects can be assigned to a specific group or shared between several groups of developers.
Several types of access modes can be set up by the Database Administrator for the individual users or groups of users. Among such modes are Read-Only or Read-Write access for projects, records, and separate reaction components. Each project, record, or component of a biotransformation pathway and reaction can have a specific level of access, and can be excluded from being viewed or modified by individual users or groups of users. Project-based permissions for creating and deleting records are also available.
ACD/ChemFolder Enterprise supports document attachments. Users can create reports and documents in different formats (Microsoft Office documents such as .doc, .xls, .ppt, as well as Adobe .pdf, and .txt, to name just a few) and attach these files to the database records or an individual component of biotransformation pathway or reaction. Attached files are stored within the database and are available for browsing and editing by a user with the appropriate access permissions. An audit trail is provided for each attached file.
