In the Database window, you can view the chosen database, using a number of available layouts.
You have an option of opening a database in either Web Librarian or your desktop ACD/Labs databasing application.
One Record View is the default viewing mode, which is applied every time Web Librarian is started for the first time.
The One Record View can consist of several subwindows:
- Spectrum/Chromatogram
- Spectrum/Chromatogram Parameters
- Structure
- User Notes
- User Data
- Plates
- Tree
- Graph
- Filters
- Tables
For example, if a record has several associated structures, the Tree and Structure subwindows can be useful for browsing through the data within the selected record.
The Spectrum/Chromatogram Parameters subwindow allows users to select specific tables with data relevant to the particular analytical technique available in the currently opened database:
- Spectrum Parameters
- Full Chromatogram Parameters
- Table of Annotations
- Table of Assignments
- Table of Peaks
- Table of Integrals
- Table of Multiplets
- RI Table
|
- TIC Table
- Delta Table
- Table of Fragments
- Table of Formulae
- Table of 1H Shifts
- Table of 13C Shifts
- Table of 15N Shifts
- Table of Coupling Constants

Additional user interface options are implemented in One Record View mode:
- Record Tree subwindow, that allows you to see, at-a-glance, the complete structure of the record. Information within this frame is represented as an "information tree" displaying root nodes (Structure, User Data, Documents, etc.), then branching further to display other file-related data (Spectrum Parameters, User Notes, Tables, Formula, etc.):
- Graph subwindow, for graphic analysis. In this subwindow, a graph showing the relationship between user data values can be presented and analyzed.
- Filters Tree subwindow to visualize data retrieved by filters (search conditions). Series of consequent searches are represented graphically in a "tree" format.
Search conditions are defined in the Search Records window, and then saved under Search Conditions. In the example below, Ortho-hydroxy search subfilter was applied to the records retrieved by a query for a parent filter - Benzene substructure search.

Database screen layout can be customized, and the changes saved for future use.
For more convenient database browsing, Web Librarian supports a number of viewing modes, in addition to the One Record View shown earlier:
- The Tile View helps users review several records at a time by visualizing the structure associated with the record.
- The Table View offers more detailed information about the records, and is very convenient for quick browsing. Table view columns can be rearranged or sorted by column value.
You can select the particular types of spectra to be displayed in the Table View.
ACD/Web Librarian supports navigation using Plates. Color-coded wells are shown in the Plates subwindow. Colors of the wells can represent specified values or ranges of values.
Virtual Plate support. Users can "assign" a record to a virtual plate even if no plate information exists within the record.
View of the combinatorial plate can be customized to specify plate size, numbering direction, and other parameters.
User data included with the plate wells can be transferred to the report, maintaining the color coding.
Due to browser window size limitations, complex chemical structures or multi-step chemical reactions may be illegible in the Structure subwindow. You can enlarge the structures and reactions to 400% of their original size to view them in closer detail.
Structures and spectra can also be viewed in scalable pop-up windows. Furthermore, they can be easily copied to the Windows clipboard as images.
ACD/Web Librarian supports databases with multistage chemical reactions.
ACD/Labs software enables electronic signatures. With Web Librarian, you are able to view electronic signatures for selected records to support regulatory compliance standards.
ACD/Web Librarian enables browsing and searching through ISIS databases.
The Tile and Table viewing modes for ISIS databases are now available.
Web Librarian can read and display screen forms associated with ACD/Labs and ISIS databases.
The Compose a Message dialog box allows you to compose and send e-mail messages including links to different sets of database records. It conveniently uses your Address Book.

Quick switching between recently used databases is possible by clicking the database caption. On returning to one of the recently used databases, Web Librarian remembers the last record shown, the viewing mode (One Record/Tile/Table), the search conditions, and so on.

Manipulate lists of records to:
- Merge Lists
- Intersect Lists
- Subtract Lists
- Set IDs
- Switch
- Undo

Close the current database using the button on the top left corner of the window toolbar.
