At ACD/Labs, we believe in providing you with the best Chemistry software available. Given our devotion to our Clients' needs, we are always working on improving our software, providing upgrades and new features on a continual basis. If you have purchased a Maintenance Contract, you are entitled to the latest version of the software and all of the features that it contains. For version 8.0, we now offer two options for updating your software:
Option 1: Update from the Internet
Use the update feature included in the software. This has most likely been installed with your ACD/Labs software. The Updater Program can typically be found in Windows by choosing:
Start Menu >> (All) Programs >> ACD 8.0 >> Update >> Web Updater
This Update method will allow you to have instant access to the latest version of the ACD/Labs software that you purchased. Unfortunately, security settings such as firewall configurations will not allow communication or downloading of the software updates.
Option 2: Use the ACD/Labs Update Server
For Version 8.0, ACD/Labs is making the Update Server available for installation at your site. The Update Server utilizes update files that will be sent on DVD-ROM on a quarterly basis to deploy software updates.
If security measures such as a firewall prevent you from accessing our public update servers, this option is designed for you. Additionally, if your organization owns several network and standalone installations, the ACD/Labs Update Server can be set up to streamline the update process for the entire organization.
