Deploying ChemAnalytics™ Within an Organization. Web Librarian: Advances in Web-based Deployment of Analytical Knowledge

Abstract

Pharmaceutical and chemical researchers today are challenged with an array of analytical techniques including multiple forms of spectroscopy, chromatography, hyphenated techniques, and other analytical methods that produce "analytical curves". This abundance of data creates the need for computational analysis tools and information systems to extract knowledge from analytical data, increase laboratory throughput, and disseminate results. This talk will describe and discuss the ACD/Labs analytical database software system which allows scientists to process data prior to integrating the extracted knowledge into a single data repository. This allows databasing of the analytical data and the ability to both communicate the results and re-use the information when necessary. Specifically, the linking of different software modules; processors, managers, predictors, and simulators, will be highlighted since this can provide a unified analytical data management system. Additionally, the capability to communicate the information through a thin-client Web interface using Web Librarian will be developed.
