ACD/Labs Developments in UV-IR Processor and Manager: Introducing SIMPLISMA
Michel Hachey, Daria Jouravleva
Abstract
There are a wide number of applications that require the ability to resolve data into the concentration profiles and the spectra of the components present. The SIMPLe-to-use Interactive Self-modeling Mixture Analysis approach, SIMPLISMA, promises through its name that it can do this without much user effort. Yet, in spite of this simplicity of use, it still provides a powerful means of analyzing data that undergoes changes in concentration with respect to time without requiring prior information on either the shape of pure spectra or concentration profile. Even with the widespread application of SIMPLISMA, it still remains a tool for the avant-guard and experts. Its application to the mainstream is widespread but slow. In part, this slow deployment is due to setup difficulties since expert generic software and macros are not necessarily suited to mainstream users. We will present the first commercial implementation of SIMPLISMA in a ready-to-use intuitive interface designed to make SIMPLISMA more readily accessible to all.
