The ACD/Labs Quality Process - Bugs, Bug Tracking and Patches
Gavin Shear
Abstract
A good Quality Assurance system does not simply test and fix bugs. It must embrace all elements of the software life cycle including a quality design process, thorough testing, defect analysis and correction procedures.
Since ACD/Labs offers a multi-module software solution, the possibilities for potential problems during the development cycle are numerous. What systems do ACD/Labs use to ensure the quality development process prior to software release and post release? How does ACD/Labs respond to bug reports, and feature requests? What happens when a bug is uncovered?
We will take you through the ACD/Labs software life-cycle, and shed light on the unique bug-tracking system that has been developed by our programmers. We'll see how our users are able to direct future developments of our software, and become a part of an interactive, collaborative development process.
Looking forward, there are exciting things in store for users of ACD/Labs software. Our new patch upgrade system promises to provide even faster response to bugs and feature requests, allowing users to implement improvements at the click of a mouse.
