ACD Seminar 2002
Palais de Congrès, Montreal, PQ, Canada - June 4, 2002

Recent Advances in Computer-assisted Chromatographic Method Development and High-throughput Application of Standard Chromatographic Methods

Advanced Chemistry Development (ACD) develops software for the prediction and optimization of chromatographic separations. This seminar will focus on recent efforts around ACD's computer-assisted method development software, Method Development Suite (MDS). The software is designed to help build a chromatographic knowledge base, and then to take advantage of this knowledge base by extension to new compounds. New additions to MDS including Structure Similarity Search and Chromatographic Smart Search will be discussed.

A great deal of interest has recently been given to generic, or "standard", chromatographic methods. These methods are designed to be applied to a wide variety of compounds, whether in support of custom method development, parallel synthesis, or LCMS structure verification. ACD/ChromGenius is a new ACD product designed to facilitate the implementation and interpretation of standard methods using structure similarity algorithms along with retention time prediction based on physicochemical parameters of compounds. High-throughput strategies for selection between generic methods and accurate structure verification will be discussed.
